fields between Shirenewton & Mynyddbach

10th March 05: You will have noticed that 'For auction' boards have recently gone up in respect of the fields between Shirenewton & Mynyddbach.

As reported in the Parish Magazine (Feb '05) the fields are owned by two sisters neither of whom live locally. Despite attempts to purchase the fields (with a lottery grant) on behalf of the community, the fields are to be auctioned. The boards are the start of this process. The future use of the fields and open public access is now in question.

It is not anticipated that any planning permission would be given for development on these fields. However, as reported in the Parish Magazine, any change of use of these fields (to extend a garden for example) would require planning consent from MCC and such consent is unlikely to be given and will be strongly resisted by parts the community.

Please note: The fields along the road to the Huntsman which  usually have horses in them are not affected nor is Bleddyn Close which is owned by MCC.
