Wednesday 1st September was
a beautiful day. The sun shone and the golf balls
flew - in all directions. Just as well really as
Shirenewton Church was holding
its first (annual?) Corporate Golfing Day at Marriott St Pierre Hotel and Country Club.
The
day started with Brunch and registration which was
followed by 18 holes on the
Championship Course. The event was rounded off with
evening meal
in the Chepstow Room complete with prize giving, a
raffle and auction.

The
gathering was international with teams from as far a field as
Germany and Ireland. The event was a wonderful success raising
about £7,000
for the church extension fund. Our thanks go to all the
teams who entered, the sponsors and a special thanks to St Pierre
for their generosity and support.
