six nations kick-off 2009

Update 9th Feb 09: The six nations kick-off was well attended (despite a contingent being trapped in Dublin by inclement weather) and raised ~£850! We would like to thank Brian Price for his entertaining talk and predictions, and all those who attended. Next year's six nations kick-off already has a speaker booked so watch the website for details!

Join us for a six nations kick-off on Friday 6th February 2009 in the Church Room

Speaker: Brian Price (ex Wales Captain)

Brian Price gained 32 caps playing for Wales and also played for the British Lions & the Barbarians. He is one of the few players to have played in winning teams against each of the three major touring sides. Brian will share his thoughts on the forthcoming six nations matches and make (dangerous?) predictions.

Surprise additional guest (professional rugby player) also invited!

This evening will be a great way to kick off the six nations tournament among village friends and will include a ‘rugby slanted’ general knowledge quiz and other such ‘six nations’ centric activities.  It is sure to be a fun filled evening.

Tickets: £10 per person (£8 for Friends of the Church)

Your ticket includes a fabulous ‘six nations’ ploughmans meal. There will be a pay bar with a ‘six nations’ theme.

Venue: The Church Room

Time: Doors open @ 7:30pm; Food at 8:00pm; Close @ 10:30pm.

Tickets: Available for Friends of the Church immediately (and others from Wednesday 21st January) from Kevin Bounds (641818); John Nicholas (641368); & David Cornwell (641715) or email your webmaster. Strictly limited numbers so book now!
