village fete 11 June 2011A variable day weather wise. The forecast was good but would it last? The answer was 'NO'. At 1:30pm, just as everyone was gathering in the Tan House Car Park for the parade, the heavens opened. The parade bravely marched - brollies deployed! Glynis Macdonald braved the rain to open the fete and shortly afterwards the sun shone! Horray! It lasted until 4:30pm when another sets of showers drove the happy crowds home - a premature end to the day. However, in the two and a half hours of sunshine a classic fete was had by all - the crowds purchased cakes, consumed beer, sipped Pimms, won bottles, knocked over skittles, threw balls at coconuts, purchased stuff and so on.
Today, Sunday 12th (the day after) it's pouring down and not at all pleasant outside - so we can be thankful for our 2.5 hours of sunshine. It's too early to know how much we raised. I'll update the page when we it's announced.
