village fete 2nd June 2012On a windy day with the threat of rain (which thankfully did not materialise) fete '12 kicked-off with the traditional procession from the Tan House. The band marched and a classic fete was had by all. In addition to all the traditional stalls, this year the fete hosted the inaugural Welsh Welly Wanging Open championship. The crowds wanged wellies (including the local MP, David Davies), purchased cakes, consumed beer, sipped Pimms, won bottles, knocked over skittles, threw balls at coconuts, rummaged in bric-a-brac and so on. Overall a total of £4,500 was raised to maintain the church in the village.
