shirenewton church golf classic

This year the Shirenewton Church Fund Raising event was played at the famous Fota Island Hotel near Cork, Ireland.

Approximately 18 teams braved the appalling weather conditions to ''splash off' and paddle around the course. Some didn't make it - they retired hurt for some warmth and sustenance. It was very very wet.

Friday 5th September 2008 @ Fota Island, Cork, Ireland

The event and evening dinner and auction raised approximately £11,000 of which shirenewton church will receive approximately £8,000 the remainder being donated to the society of St Vincent de Paul an Irish charity.
