jeremy taylor - 24th may 2009

Update: With a final rousing chorus of everyone singing 'We are all just prawns in the game" (and no its not a typo) Jermey Taylor finished a very successful and well received concert in the Church Room.

Entertaining & amusing yet, in many cases, poignant and thoughtful, Jermey's lyrics and 'stage' presence kept everyone's attention. Pimms and nibbles followed to round off a wonderful evening. The concert raised £645 for the extension fund.

-- end of update --

Shirenewton Church fund raising committee is pleased to announce that Jeremy Taylor will be performing in the Church on Sunday 24th May 2009 @ 7:30 pm. Its bank holiday on Monday.

Jeremy will play a single set of approximately 75 minutes which will be followed by 'meet the artist' with Pimms and nibbles in the Church Room. You will be able to meet Jeremy and, probably purchase one of his CDs :~)

Tickets will be £10 per head and this will include the Pimms and nibbles! Tickets are strictly limited and available from David Cornwell on 01291 641715 or email webmaster @ shirenewtonchurch.com.

Jeremy is a singer/songwriter, a poet and a humorist who was banned from South Africa for ridiculing apartheid. His smash hit 'Ag Pleez Deddy' was a four times gold single. He also spent two years on the West End with 'Wait a Minim' - a South African musical revue. See his full bio here.

A couple of clips of Jeremy Taylor from YouTube. 'Ag Pleez Deddy' followed by the 'Lift Girl's Lament'. Enjoy
